Our Mission... "To develop Norwich’s position as a centre of excellence for digital media in the region. Supporting new or existing media, communications and allied businesses that are operating here. Providing first class technical facilities for production and post-production. Producing the skilled digital creatives of the future through collaboration between industry and education.” |
David Hazel, EPIC's Head Engineer and Director Mark Wells outside EPIC |
EPIC (East of England Production Innovation Centre) is based in the former Anglia TV studios on Magdalen St, Norwich. The site was purchased by Norfolk County Council with £1.2m funding from the East of England Development Agency (EEDA ) in Spring 2006. Further EEDA grant funding allowed the building to be equipped for education, training and commercial broadcast production and as a business centre for related businesses. the final stage, in 2008, was complete conversion to High Definition and tapeless workflow. EPIC's role is to promote Norwich and Norfolk as a creative industries hub and to support Norfolk's creative community by ensuring it has access to world class facilities. We are now one of the most advanced independent HD studios in the UK and Europe: EPIC in Norwich is the natural choice for many events and productions. |
