This is the studio which hosted Trisha Goddard, Vanessa and Graham Norton (not all at the same time.) Graham recorded his Golden Rose winner "Bring Me the Head of Light Entertainment" here for channel 5. Other productions include:

STUDIO E

Drama / L.E. Studio of approximately 6,000 square feet, with audience seating for up to 300 persons in a tiered rostra (with camera tower behind). The studio has six Sony HD cameras with a mix of lightweight and studio lenses, peds, tripods and a Jimmy Jib. There is fibre optic infrastructure and cabling for up to 8 HD cameras, with 6 permanently available.
The Saturation Lighting Grid has350 Lighting Channels under DMX control (from floor or gallery). All lights are mounted on remotely controlled electric hoists.
The studio comes with four dressing rooms, a hospitality room, a wardrobe and laundry room and a make-up and hair salon. There is a scenic lift and a construction / set finishing area. Production Offices are also available. There is also a conference room / viewing theatre, with online HD projection and 7.1 surround sound audio.
The studio comes with three large galleries – production, sound and engineering. It has a Kayak 3ME HD vision mixer (with integrated video server), a Pixel Power Clarity HD Graphics computer and highly flexible talkback and communications from RTS Telex. The sound gallery is equipped with a Calrec Alpha Bluefin digital desk, with up to 450 channels, and equipped for live surround sound recording and monitoring, making the studio an equally impressive sound and music stage as well as a full TV production studio.
There is a separate dedicated VTR area, with recording to HDCam SR, HDCam, Digi Beta and DVC Pro. Other formats are available, and of course, direct ingest to server for tapeless workflow.. Back to What's here?

DISCUSSION STUDIO

This is a smaller HD production studio of approximately 1,000 square feet, suitable for discussion, magazine and small channel presentation as well as corporate and training use. It has four HD cameras and is equipped with a Kayak 1 ME HD vision mixer.

There is a chroma key area. The studio comes with a flexible mix of hot and cold lighting and has the usual assembly of other facilities such as radio mikes and teleprompting.

On the production side, there are separate video and audio galleries. Vision mixer and DVE have been upgraded to HD. Picture store and Collage are also available. The audio gallery has a TASCAM DM-4800 digital mixer.

The studio can record to Digi-beta, most other tape formats, or to server for immediate editing access. The studio also has its own dressing room facilities.

VIRTUAL STUDIO

This is a 1,000 square foot dedicated SD Virtual Studio, equipped with the latest Orad Blue Set system, which permits live camera operations – pans, tilts and zooms, and near-realtime camera re-positioning. It too has separate vision and digital audio galleries. Virtual Sets can be designed and built within the system, or imported from Graphics packages such as 3D Studio Max or Maya.

The digital, widescreen virtual studio is equipped with four Thompson Broadcast cameras, fitted with studio box lenses and talkback facilities.

This studio has separate video and audio galleries dedicated to the virtual system. The studio can record to Digi-beta, or other formats, or to server for immediate editing access. Dressing room room facilities are available also.

This is a purpose-built, real-time special effects studio. The only limits on the scenes you can achieve - and the live action or animations you can accomplish within them- are set by your own imagination. Back to What's Here?
